Dylan Scott McCarthy

I am honored to have been selected as one of the recipients of the 3 to 1 Foundation College Scholarship. Thank you for your generosity, which will help me tremendously in meeting my college expenses this coming school year. My mom is a single mother of three and unable to help out with the tuition. My dad and stepmom are helping me pay for some of my college expenses, but they have four of us to put through school. The last three summers I have worked full-time to save money for college, and I will have a part­ time job during the school year.

I will begin my undergraduate studies as a freshman at Grand Valley State University this fall majoring in Radiation Therapy. My goal is to help patients cure cancer. Working as a volunteer in my community throughout high school, I enjoyed helping children. I plan on continuing to serve the community by volunteering at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

Once again, thank you for the vote of confidence you have shown in me. I am committed to my education and to the healthcare field. This scholarship will play a key role in
achieving my educational dreams. Because of your generosity, the financial burden placed on me to pursue my education will be reduced.
